CDHAI collaboration philosophy

Our collaborations with private corporations, not-for-profit organizations, and academic institutions drive us to collectively achieve our vision for improving the practice and delivery of health care through the application of digital technologies and artificial intelligence. CDHAI welcomes such partnerships with external entities that can take any of the following forms.

Membership in the center

Partners may opt for membership in CDHAI, with varying levels of financial commitment. Potential members include health systems, hospitals, digital health companies, consulting companies that have health care practices, pharmaceutical companies, and any organization with an interest in the application of digital technologies and AI for health care improvement. Members are acknowledged in the center’s publications and websites, and receive additional benefits.

Research sponsorship

CDHAI provides access to world-class researchers with expertise in digital health technologies; technology value, adoption, and diffusion; health care operations; advanced statistical and analytical techniques; applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning in health care settings using both structured and unstructured data; and a broad understanding of the business of health care. Research project sponsorships leverage CDHAI’s capability as a neutral, unbiased third party and are constructed around a specific research project that the partner is interested in conducting in collaboration with CDHAI researchers. The partner will specify the scope of the project and well-defined deliverables will be jointly agreed upon.

Generally, such projects are aimed at generating novel insights and advancing understanding in some aspects of digital health. Projects can include primary data collection through surveys, interviews, and focus groups, followed by statistical and econometric analysis of the data. They may also involve the analysis of archival data, or a survey of research literature. Deliverables include research papers, white papers, executive briefings, and executive presentations. The financial commitment for such projects varies, depending on the scope of work.

Our mission 

CDHAI generates knowledge to enable the digital transformation of health care, provides mentorship and education for the next generation of digital health experts, and aims to be a thought leader in digital health and artificial intelligence. 

Transformational knowledge includes understanding how digital health solutions can be effectively implemented and integrated into health care practice and delivery across diverse clinical and patient-focused settings. The next generation of digital health experts includes researchers, practitioners, and executives at the doctoral, masters, and executive level. Our thought leadership encompasses publishing research, and disseminating findings and best practices to influence policy and practice.   

Overview 

The Center for Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence (CDHAI) is a research-focused center that collaborates with academic institutions, industry partners, and government agencies to address health care challenges.

CDHAI particularly emphasizes technology solutions that can amplify patient safety and health care quality, improve health equity and reduce healthcare disparities, and help control cost. CDHAI serves as a focal point for coordinating collaborations across stakeholders that include academia, industry, government, and policy organizations.  

CDHAI follows a partnership model for its activities. Industry and government partners provide input into the pressing challenges and opportunities confronting health care that may be addressed through digital health solutions. Researchers at CDHAI conceptualize and execute research projects in response to these challenges and opportunities, often in close engagement with stakeholders.
