Teaching & Learning Promotes and Supports Excellence by Providing the Following Services:
Faculty Development
- Personalized consultation and support for individual faculty members
- Development and coordination of faculty development workshops that support continual growth in teaching effectiveness
- Partnership with the Office of Faculty and Research and Human Resources to facilitate a thorough faculty orientation and onboarding process
- Development of the Carey Faculty Teaching Hub and Faculty Calendar, in collaboration with all of Teaching & Learning, the Office of Faculty and Research, Human Resources, and other Carey partners
- Partnership with faculty in learning assessment efforts that measure student achievement and promote continuous program improvement
Instructional Technology
- Recommendations for new and emerging instructional technologies
- Assistance with implementing new technologies in the classroom
- Ongoing support and training for commonly used classroom technologies, such as Canvas
Instructional Design
- Design, development, and evaluation of both face-to-face and online courses
- Guidance on how to implement different instructional strategies, such as using learning activities as an alternative to traditional lectures
- Assistance with implementing best practices of instructional design, such as creating grading rubrics
Multimedia
- Consultations to help determine the most appropriate media for coursework and content development solutions
- Guidance on best practices for creating and implementing impactful media in courses
- Full-service production for video, animation, audio, scripting, eLearning activities, and AI visuals and audio
