Our Executive MBA is a fast-paced 19-month program – where you can gain your degree without putting your career on pause. With in-person residencies throughout the program and continuous engagement in your online classroom, the EMBA is structured to fit your demanding schedule. You’ll join your cohort for residencies in Washington, D.C., with immersive, face-to-face learning, leadership development, and peer collaboration, while maintaining the momentum of your professional life.
The Johns Hopkins Carey Executive MBA program follows a dynamic, integrated teaching format designed for experienced professionals. Typically, students take three courses simultaneously in each term. The term begins with a three-day in-person residency, during which participants attend intensive, face-to-face sessions for all three courses. Over the next three weeks, learning continues online with each week dedicated to one course, which allows students to immerse themselves fully in each subject. A second three-day residency brings the cohort back together for in-person engagement across all three courses. The term concludes with another three-week online sequence, again focusing on one course per week, reinforcing learning through a balanced blend of collaboration, reflection, and applied practice.

The Master's in Management program is designed to help students build a strong foundation in essential business foundations while preparing them to lead in a rapidly evolving global business environment. Our MiM curriculum combines intensive coursework with practical, hands-on learning to develop adaptable, data-driven, and ethically minded leaders.

The MiM program combines business theory with real-world applications that help develop practical, in-demand skills that top employers value most–from data analysis and strategic planning to solving leadership challenges. With a focus on global perspectives and four optional elective tracks, the Master's in Management program will prepare you to work collaboratively, think critically, and grow into a confident, ethically grounded leader ready to enter the workforce and make an immediate impact.
Students complete an 11 course (22-credit) core curriculum that builds a strong foundation in key business areas including finance, strategy, leadership, analytics, and communication. To tailor the experience to their personal career goals, students choose four electives (8 credits) from a diverse selection of topics to align with personal interests and career goals. Students also have the option to select one of four elective tracks in AI for Management, Analytics for Management, Leadership, or Entrepreneurship. At least one elective must be experiential, giving students the opportunity to put theory into practice through a real-world project. This requirement can be fulfilled by participating in the signature experiential learning course abroad or by taking a comparable non-experiential course at Carey’s location in Baltimore.
