Carey Business School students come from all walks of lives. We take pride in our differences and are committed to supporting all of our LGBTQ+ students. Through student organizations, scholarships, and more, we have the resources for you to thrive during and after your time at Carey Business School.
Johns Hopkins Carey Business School values the importance of visibility and inclusivity. The Reaching Out MBA scholarship supports LGBTQ+ students with the opportunity to achieve their goals in the business world.
Student organization: Out for Business
Out for Business promotes an inclusive, open, and welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ students and straight allies alike. Out for Business encourages the recruitment of LGBTQ+ students, administrators, staff, and faculty and improves awareness of LGBTQ+ issues within Carey Business School and beyond. Activities also include networking opportunities with other LGBTQ+ communities, other business schools, and diversity-friendly employers.

Reaching Out MBA Fellowship
Johns Hopkins Carey Business School partners with Reaching Out to offer scholarships and exclusive programs for budding LGBTQ+ business leaders in the full-time Johns Hopkins MBA and the Design Leadership (MA/MBA) programs.
Fellows receive $10,000 or more per year and access to Reaching Out programming and mentoring, LGBTQ+ leadership opportunities, summer career treks and more. No separate application is required. Finalists for the fellowship will be named and notified during the admissions review process.
Applicable programs: Full-Time MBA, Design Leadership (MA/MBA)
University resources
Find additional support, education, and advocacy around sexual orientation, gender identity, and the intersections of those identities with other identities. Resources include a mentorship program, an ally network across all of the Johns Hopkins campuses, counseling and more.
