JHUCarey Announces Collaboration with Frankfurt School of Finance and Management

June 3, 2013 -- The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management (FSFM) have agreed to pursue an institutional collaboration to promote research initiatives in the area of health care management, finance and economics. The objectives of the institutional collaboration include encouraging and supporting business and management research of the highest academic quality, providing opportunities for international experience for each institution's faculty, and promoting cultural understanding between the United States and Germany. As a part of this agreement, the institutions will participate in the exchange of academic materials, lectures, and conferences.

The first program under this initiative, The U.S. Module on Innovation, Strategic Management Marketing and Project Management, creates new opportunities for FSFM students in the MBA program on International Health Care Management. This one-week U.S. residency program will examine U.S. and European models of health care management and delivery. Faculty from both the Carey Business School and the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management will deliver the program at the Carey Business School’s Washington, D.C., and Baltimore campuses.

This program represents a unique opportunity for FSFM students to enrich their academic and professional background with an intensive residency in the United States. The U.S. residency aims to develop first-hand experience by examining health care management practices in the U.S. and Europe, engaging with international institutions focused on health care in the Washington, D.C., region, and addressing critical management, strategy, marketing, and leadership topics. The program includes intensive course work, lectures, and case exercises with specific sessions assessing existing international health care systems, innovation in health care delivery, competitive strategy, and project management. This course work will be augmented by discussions with global health institutions in the Washington, D.C., region, case studies, team projects and presentations.
