Carey's Toby Gordon Joins Statewide Advisory Commission on Immunizations

Toby Gordon, ScD, an associate professor with the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, has been appointed to Maryland’s Statewide Advisory Commission on Immunization. The Commission advises both the Board of Education and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene on statewide vaccine needs and makes recommendations on immunization requirements for children entering school. The panel also works to make vaccine accessible and affordable across the Maryland for both adults and children.

Gordon’s academic research focuses on the intersections of business, public health, and new technologies with expertise in health care policy, hospital management and health systems, and technology commercialization. In addition to her appointment with the Carey Business School, Gordon holds joint appointments with the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She serves as the Academic Program Director of the Health Care Management Programs at the Carey Business School and directs the Discovery to Market technology commercialization course. She is also Deputy Director for Business Strategies for the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Gordon’s term with the Statewide Advisory Commission on Immunization will run through June 2016.
