The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School has appointed Chris Bauman as associate dean for finance and administration, effective July 1, 2018.

“Chris Bauman has the management skills and experience to keep the Carey Business School on our path of growth and strong performance. He will be an excellent addition to our management team,” said Bernard Ferrari, dean of the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.

During the previous three years, Bauman was assistant dean of finance and administration at the Graziadio Business School of Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. He had profit and loss responsibility of Graziadio’s $100 million operating budget.

In that role, he was a member of Graziadio’s leadership team and participated in all aspects of managing the school, including strategy development and execution, budget planning and oversight, revenue and expense forecasting, talent management, organization structure, community presentations, and liaison with central Pepperdine partners.

Before serving as assistant dean, he spent more than a decade in various other financial management roles at the university.

Bauman earned his master of business administration degree (with a finance concentration) at the Graziadio School and his bachelor of arts degree in economics at Pepperdine’s Seaver College.
