Laurence Wildgoose is the assistant administrator for policy, international affairs, and environment at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
In this role, he is responsible for leading the FAA's policy efforts to improve the safety and capacity of the global aerospace system in an environmentally sound manner. His focus is coordinating the FAA's reauthorization efforts before Congress, improving the safety and efficiency of the National Airspace System, and advancing innovation-friendly policies related to the safe integration of new entrants, including uncrewed aircraft systems.

Laurence also oversees the agency's international activity, including advancing the FAA's global leadership on safety and environmental initiatives. He coordinates with international bodies and foreign governments and represents the United States at various national and international convenings, including recent engagements in Colombia, Singapore, Republic of South Korea, Canada, Belgium, France, and the United Kingdom.

Prior to joining the FAA, Laurence worked in the United States Senate for nearly 15 years. He last served as a professional staff member on the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, where he handled aviation safety and security issues related to the FAA, the Transportation Security Administration, and the National Transportation Safety Board. He worked under the leadership of Senator Maria Cantwell (WA), after joining the committee under Senator Bill Nelson (FL).

Laurence earned an M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School, where he was a member of the Bloomberg Scholars Program and a William C. Dulin Scholarship recipient. Laurence received his B.A. from Florida State University.
