DIGITAL MEASURES INSTRUCTIONS AND GUIDELINES

Digital Measures

Digital Measures (DM) is the data management system used Carey Business School to record professional achievements of the faculty. DM is a secure, online information management system designed to help faculty organize, track and report on teaching, research and service activities. Data in the system are used to produce AACSB accreditation reports. All faculty - part-time and fulltime - are required to update their profile throughout the year.

Below are important guidelines and instructions to help walk you through Digital Measures:

Notes

  • Faculty should enter complete dates (ie, month, day, year) for all entries into Digital Measures, where applicable
  • The JHU courses you have taught automatically feed from ISIS into DM, so no data entry is necessary
  • Some information in Digital Measures is read only for faculty. If you find incorrect information in a field that you are unable to update, please use the email link for the Carey Business School (CareyDM@jhu.edu) that appears at the top of each screen in Digital Measures to report the incorrect data.
  • Please refer to the Teaching & Learning@Carey site for more detailed information regarding your Digital Measures profile and required information.

When should I update my Digital Measures profile?  What kind of information should I enter?

Digital Measures is a data management system that is used to house faculty data. The data are used for annual faculty evaluations we well as AACSB accreditation reporting. The school seeks faculty who are academically qualified or professionally qualified. To ensure faculty meet these requirements, we recommend updating Digital Measures at the end of every semester. Several reminders will be sent to faculty when updates are necessary.

Some of this information is automatically populated from other databases; however, certain fields must be populated manually. Faculty are strongly encouraged to upload professional achievements—including degrees earned, presentations given, awards received, intellectual contributions, etc.—into their Digital Measures profile. Please refer to Required Data Guide for Carey Faculty to find out more about required information.

If you encounter any problems or have questions, please use the “Feedback” link within Digital Measures.
