Steve Sakwa is a senior managing director and a senior equity research analyst covering real estate investment trusts (REITs) for Evercore ISI. Sakwa has been an institutional investor ranked REIT analyst for the past 12 years and has been ranked #1 or #2 during this period. Prior to joining Evercore ISI, Sakwa was managing director and lead equity research analyst at Merrill Lynch covering the U.S. REIT sector. He was also global property coordinator in which he oversaw analysts in 10 different regions spanning more than 200 stocks. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Sakwa spent 2.5 years at Morgan Stanley where he was a research associate following the REIT sector.

Sakwa began his career at the May Company and spent two years in their buyer training program. Sakwa earned his MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University in and his BA in economics from the University of Michigan.
