Institutional Aid
The Office of Financial Aid is responsible for the awarding of 17 endowed scholarships to students each year.
These scholarships are for tuition only. All current students and new students who have received an Admission Offer are welcome to apply for these funds. These scholarships are primarily merit-based and the average amount awarded is around $3,800.
These scholarships are for the fall and spring semesters only. Recipients receive half of the award in the fall semester, and half in the spring semester. Since these scholarships are primarily merit-based, returning students meeting the academic criteria may receive funding first. Please note that this funding is not guaranteed.
Application requirements for 2024-2025
Carey Business School Endowed Scholarship deadline for 2024-2025: May 15, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. EST. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. Applicants will be notified by the end of June 2024 regarding the status of their application.
The new 2024-2025 application form will be available on this website after April 1, 2024.

Endowed funds awarded by the Office of Financial Aid
Bloomberg Scholars Program
An alumnus of the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering and former chairman of the Johns Hopkins University Board of Trustees, the Honorable Michael Bloomberg, former mayor of New York City, established the Bloomberg Scholars Program in 1995 to provide financial support to students with outstanding academic ability and potential.
Charles T. and G. Audrey Carter, Jr. Scholarship
Established in 1998 by business alumnus Charles T. Carter, Jr., '81, and G. Audrey Carter, this scholarship supports students of the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.
Aaron and Fannye Cohen Scholarship
David Cohen, former chairman of the Real Estate Advisory Board, and his wife Susan established the Aaron and Fannye Cohen Scholarship in 2000 in honor of their parents. This fund supports students with demonstrated financial need in the Edward St. John Real Estate Program.
Howard E. Cooper, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
Mary Cooper Evans established this fund in 1985 in honor of Dr. Howard E. Cooper, Jr., professor emeritus and former associate dean of McCoy College, who taught at Johns Hopkins from 1928 until his retirement in 1964. This fund supports students majoring in business.
Dean's Alumni Advisory Board (DAAB) Scholarship
Established in 2015 by the members of the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School's Dean's Alumni Advisory Board, this merit-based scholarship is awarded to an outstanding graduate student in business.
William C. Dulin Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 1987 to honor Dr. William Carter Dulin, former professor of management at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and a member of the task force charged with developing the school's first graduate business degree program applicable to the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. The scholarship provides financial assistance for academically talented students studying business management.
Dr. Frederick H. Glade, Jr. Scholarship
Established in 1991 by the family of the late Dr. Frederic H. Glade Jr., director of the former Division of Business and Management (now the Carey Business School) from 1969 to 1979. This scholarship is awarded to a student at Carey who demonstrates scholastic achievement and does not receive employer-paid tuition assistance.
James G. Green Memorial Scholarship
The James G. Green Memorial Scholarship was established in 2004 by the Green Contracting Company and the Green family and friends. In honor of the late James G. Green, this merit scholarship provides financial assistance to students who attend Carey while employed full time.
Alfred D. Johnson Jr. and Marta D.V. Johnson Scholarship
The Alfred D. Johnson Jr. and Marta D.V. Johnson Endowed Scholarship was established in 2014 by Alfred, BS ’76, MAS ’82, and Marta Johnson to support students with financial need.
Susan J. Kilmartin Scholarship
This Scholarship provides financial assistance to women pursuing a degree in Information Technology at The Carey Business School.
Linda C. Mistler Scholarship
Established in 1998 by Linda C. Mistler, '83, this scholarship provides financial assistance to students at the Carey Business School.
Helen M. And E. Magruder Passano, Jr. Scholarship
This scholarship was established to provide financial support to students who attend the Carey Business School.
Michael C. Perkinson Scholarship for Global Business and Diplomacy
This scholarship was established in 2015 by Michael Perkinson, who graduated from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies with an MA in international public policy in 1997 and then earned his MS in finance from the Carey Business School in 2009. This scholarship supports students with demonstrated financial need who have an interest in international business.
John B. Schneeman, Jr. Scholarship
Established in 1986 by the estate of John B. Schneeman Jr., this scholarship provides assistance to students at the Carey Business School.
William H. Thomson Scholarship
This merit scholarship was established in 1996 by Dorothy S. Thomson (deceased) in memory of her husband, William H. Thomson. This fund provides support to outstanding students at Carey.
Eva O. B. Wilson Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1967 by Eva Orrick Bandell Wilson, who attended classes in the Evening College, the fund provides aid for students with demonstrated financial need.
Zarsy Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2014 by Patricia and Cavan Redmond, MAS ’87, to create a pathway for future generations of women who will serve as business leaders in the U.S. The fund provides financial assistance to U.S. Citizens or permanent residents with financial need.
