A practicing pastor and adjunct professor  for  40 years,  Rev., Dr. Shoaf continues to explore the intersection of secular and religious institutions; faith and  interfaith communities, local government, higher education and profit and  non-profit  organizations.  He has a strong commitment  to developing the tools for  a  future  that will depend upon the partnerships organized  at these  critical junctions. Over the years he has found  the development of leadership depends upon  exploration of themes illuminated  by references accessing  different academic  fields of study  within the classroom and  providing  guidance for application beyond it.  For Dr. Shoaf   the focus on  teaching, writing,  community building and  public speaking  have provided direction  in the quest to reach these goals.
