Eddie C. Brown boasts nearly 50 years of investment experience. He began his investment career as the first Black portfolio manager at T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc. for 10 years before starting his own firm, Brown Capital Management, in 1983. Brown Capital is one of the oldest and most prominent minority-owned asset management firms in the U.S and, under Eddie’s leadership, has grown to $19 billion in assets under management and 36 employees as of the end of 2020. Eddie and his wife Sylvia are renowned for their philanthropic efforts, particularly toward Black youth, the arts, health, and the Baltimore community. Eddie is the author of the memoir Beating the Odds–Eddie Brown’s Investing and Life Strategies.
