Leadership Challenge
The MBA Leadership Challenge is a two-day professional development program designed to help hone critical leadership skills while working within a diverse team to solve complex problems in a simulated fast-paced professional environment.
In this simulated challenge, developed originally at the University of Michigan, students work in small teams to come up with a solution to an unfolding crisis facing an organization. Teams present their solutions to a Board of Directors who evaluate the soundness of their solution and the extent to which it addresses competing pressures from a variety of stakeholders. Prior to the simulated challenge, students benefit from short research briefs from faculty on cutting-edge teaming and leadership concepts. Throughout the two days, students have the opportunity to reflect and receive coaching and direct feedback from peers and Carey stakeholders on individual and team performance.
