Alex Mavroukakis (MS in Information Systems ’15) understands the importance of practicing humanity within business. As a regional and management division chief at the United States Agency of International Development, he manages a world-wide portfolio of goods and services that are provided to the American people.
Humanity is a value that binds us together. When we’re all able to come together, then we can make ever-lasting change. I chose Johns Hopkins Carey Business School because they too are committed to advancing society and shaping the next generation of leaders.
I am a regional and management division chief for procurement and contracting at the United States Agency for International Development. We provide humanitarian and international development aid to our partner nations. At USAID, I have a team of 25 procurement
and contracting professionals that focus on providing goods and services to not only internal
customers in the agency but also across the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.
Similar to Carey, USAID has a human-centered business approach, where the goal is to help transform people’s lives, so they also have the opportunity to build for what’s next.
