Scholarship opportunities for MBA programs
We know your MBA is a big financial commitment. That’s why we offer various scholarships to support your journey. Carey’s scholarships recognize the achievement and promise of our prospective MBA students, and support our commitment to diversity and inclusion by amplifying the presence of diverse voices and opinions in the classroom.
Most scholarships do not require an additional application. Talk to an admissions officer to see if you are eligible.
MBA Scholarship Opportunities
Who can be considered: Prospective MBA students and dual degree students whose home school is Carey.
The Dean’s Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship for incoming students across all degree programs at Carey. No separate application is required. Consideration is based on available funding and can cover up to full tuition for full-time applicants. Recipients are notified at the time of admission to the program, and the number and amount of awards vary by program.
Applicable programs: Full-time MBA, Flexible MBA, Executive MBA, Design Leadership MA/MBA, Accelerated MBA, MPH/MBA, JD/MBA, MD/MBA, MAIR/MBA, PhD/MBA
Funded through philanthropic and institutional resources, all domestic, full-time Johns Hopkins MBA applicants may be considered for need-based aid covering up to the full cost of attendance. This scholarship is NOT available for those completing a full-time dual degree program.
All admitted domestic applicants will be contacted by Admissions about how to submit the JHU Application for Financial Assistance. Students are also required to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The amount of scholarship will be based on the student’s demonstrated need and will be shared between the point of admission and the deposit deadline.
Who can be considered: Prospective full-time MBA students who meet eligibility requirements
Johns Hopkins MBA applicants who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents may be considered for the Carey Business Fellowship, which provides full-tuition and a $20,000 living stipend per year.
Students are eligible if they have three years of work experience by program start, scored above the 80th percentile on the GMAT/GRE (if required), and have a GPA of 3.3 or higher
We partner with Reaching Out MBA to offer scholarships for students pursuing an MBA who demonstrate a commitment to advancing LGBTQ+ inclusion in business and business school education.
Students admitted to the Full-time MBA, Flexible MBA, and Design Leadership MA/MBA can submit a brief application indicating their interest in being considered for the fellowship, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. Fellows receive $20,000 dispersed across the course of their respective MBA program, as well as access to Reaching Out programming and mentoring, LGBTQ+ leadership opportunities, summer career treks and more.
Who can be considered: Admitted Full-time MBA, Accelerated MBA, and associated dual degree (MPH/MBA, MD/MBA, MAIR/MBA, JD/MBA, PhD/MBA) students
As a Forté Foundation partner, Johns Hopkins Carey Business School is among a select group of schools and corporations supporting Forté’s purpose of opening doors to business leadership. A key initiative of the Forté partnership is the Forté Fellowship, which allows Carey to recognize students demonstrating exemplary leadership and a commitment to advancing women in business through scholarship funds.
Admitted students to the Full-time MBA, Accelerated MBA, and associated dual degrees can submit a brief application indicating their interest in being considered for the fellowship. Students of all nationalities, genders, and gender identities are eligible for consideration.
Who can be considered: Prospective Full-time MBA students who graduated from a Baltimore City public high school
The Baltimore Scholars Fellowship recognizes high-achieving Baltimore City public high school graduates in the Full-time MBA program. The scholarships reflect the university’s long-standing investment in Baltimore’s students and public schools.
Baltimore Scholars Fellows receive full tuition for two years, subject to good academic standing. We select a cohort of up to five Baltimore Scholars Fellows for each Full-time MBA class.
Students considered for the Baltimore Scholars Fellowship must meet the minimum eligibility requirements:
- Minimum of three years of full-time work experience by program start
- Graduated from a Baltimore City Public High School
- High academic achievement
No separate application is required. Fellows will be notified at the time of admission to the program. Meeting the above criteria does not guarantee being awarded.

Who can be considered: Prospective Full-time MBA students who are Johns Hopkins Medicine residents and fellows
The Johns Hopkins MBA offers residents and fellows the analytical and leadership skills to advance your career and excel in the ever-changing medical industry.
This scholarship is awarded to leaders who find technology-driven, human-centered solutions to complex health problems. Select Johns Hopkins School of Medicine residents and fellows will receive full tuition coverage for two years, subject to good academic standing.
Students considered for the Johns Hopkins Medicine Residents and Fellows Scholarship must meet the minimum eligibility requirements:
- Current Johns Hopkins residents and fellows in good standing without any current or prior disciplinary action, academic warning, or remediation plan
- Engaged in full-time training and on schedule for an on-time graduation
- Allowed by their training program director to commit to the two-year MBA program either during a leave of absence, with the expectation to return to fulltime clinical training at the completion of the MBA program, or as part of the training program.
No separate application is required. Fellows will be notified at the time of admission to the program. Meeting the above criteria does not guarantee being awarded.
