The Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School is proud to present the third annual MBA Summit. The theme of this year’s event is ConNEXTion. We have all been navigating 2+ years of shifts the way we communicate, connect and go about our personal and professional lives. This event is designed to provide space for the Carey community to talk, learn, listen, grow and hopefully feel inspired, together. We have curated event components and subject matter experts to help you open doors, open minds, gain confidence and Build for What’s Next!

Presenter bios:

Gary J Sorrentino portrait

Gary Sorrentino currently serves as Global Deputy CIO for Zoom Video Communications. A former Managing Director for J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management, Gary was the Global Head of Client Cyber Awareness and Education. For over 12 years, Gary was the Chief Technology Officer for J.P. Morgan AWM’s global technology infrastructure initiatives, where he managed its Data Privacy program and was responsible for Infrastructure, Application and End User Technology Production Support. In 2014, he assumed a new role as the lead for their Cybersecurity efforts and developed a firm-wide “Protect the Client” Cyber program designed to raise cybersecurity awareness among employees and clients. With almost 40 years of experience in Information Technology, Gary has served in various other IT leadership positions in firms across the financial services industry. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2005, Gary was Head of Global Infrastructure and Head of Technology Efficiencies at Citi Private Bank, where he was responsible for Global Infrastructure Support and strategic technology initiatives. Other roles he has held include Global Technology CFO at Credit Suisse and North America IT Controller at UBS.


caitlin magidson

Caitlin Magidson is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and Certified Coach in private practice serving clients in the Washington DC metro region and remotely around the world.

Caitlin integrates her specialties of mental health counseling and coaching as she works with clients navigating life transitions to gain clarity and confidence in reaching their goals. She previously worked as the Assistant Director of Coaching & Education at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and currently coaches executive leaders through Hopkins’ Academy for Women and Leadership and The Academy for Health Care Leadership and Management.

Caitlin is certified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Strengths Finder, EQ-i 2.0, and EQ 360 with a Career Management Certificate from The Academies. She has presented at companies across various industries to include, a Fortune 500 company as well as local and national career development conferences. Caitlin holds a BA in Corporate Communications from Elon University, and Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University.


Miri Rodriguez

Miri Rodriguez is a globally recognized Storyteller, and bestselling author of Brand Storytelling. She is a creative journalist and content strategist, evangelizing brand narrative and showcasing how thought leaders can leverage storytelling techniques for culture activation and influence in the digital age. Miri has earned several awards in digital marketing and customer experience and is ranked as top in-demand speaker at leading industry conferences around the world. Miri brings 15+ years of expertise, valuable industry and consulting insights matched with a lighthearted and connected delivery approach. Her social advocacy and philanthropic work include volunteering to train social enterprise leaders in Africa, coaching students at Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship in the U.S., and mentoring men and women to build their personal brand with empathy, passion and purpose. Her biggest accomplishment to date is being a mother of 2 boys and an American Bulldog. She can also run in heels. Ice cream is her superfood.

kathleen zemaitis

Kathleen Zemaitis, CEO, Z Inclusion, centers her diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) practice on coaching leaders and teams on their journey to be impactful inclusive advocates, with a particular focus on male-dominated industries. She brings her unique perspective and rare expertise launching both innovative DEI employee-facing career programs in the workplace, and DEI client-facing growth programs in the marketplace. Kathleen partners closely with her clients to cultivate deeper understanding of bias and inequity by sharing the voice and perspective of the underrepresented. Armed with this knowledge and a toolkit of proven strategies, leaders are coached by Kathleen to authentically stand beside communities to amplify their message of positive change and impact.

Prior to starting Z Inclusion, Kathleen launched award winning inclusion programs as Head of Advisor Diversity and Inclusion at LPL Financial, a Fortune 500 firm and the nation's largest independent brokerage firm. In this role, she developed insight-based business strategies and impactful programs to authentically connect with and grow underrepresented women, multicultural, LGBTQ+ and NextGeneration financial advisors, investors, and employees. Before joining LPL Financial, Kathleen served as a Director at TIAA for the firm's first-ever DEI and community relations programs. Previously to joining TIAA, Kathleen served as a communications, public relations and advertising consultant. Dubbed one of “19 People Who Will Change Wealth Management” (Financial Planning, 2018), Kathleen centered her 30+ year corporate career and philanthropic interests empowering women.


Jessica Antonen portrait

Jessica Antonen, CEO & Co-Founder, Studio Incendium LLC and Associate Director Career Data, Assessment, & Strategy, Career Development Office, Johns Hopkins Carey Business School Jessica Antonen serves as the Associate Director Career Data, Assessment, & Strategy for the JHU Carey Career Development Office. In her spare time, she co-founded Studio Incendium LLC in Fall 2020 as the owner and Chief Executive Officer. As CEO, she is involved with the functions, strategy, and operations of her small business. Jessica has a master's of education, is an MBA candidate at the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School, and she has nine years of project management experience.

She originally went to school for architecture and loves to apply her executive certificate in Innovation & Human-Centered Design skills in unique ways to help clients solve complex problems. She has presented at national conferences and has several published works on applying design thinking principles. Jessica also uses her Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma to provide Yellow Belt training, apply the methodology to help clients implement process improvement, and as a foundation for obtaining her Black Belt certification. Outside the office, she loves to dance, travel, and learn new skills.


catherine zadoretzky portrait

Before joining the Carey Business School in 2014, Catherine L. Zadoretzky worked as an editor in various industries, including the performing arts and government consulting. She also worked as an editor and project manager for an education technology company that produced online courses, textbooks, and open educational resources for a wide range of clients, from startups to multinational publishers. As a member of Carey’s Teaching & Learning team, Catherine is frequently involved in developing policies and processes related to curriculum management and course development.

Since 2016, when she participated in JHU’s inaugural Lean Six Sigma Fellowship Program, Catherine has been a vocal proponent of applying Lean tools and principles in higher ed administration. She enjoys working alongside staff, faculty, and students on a range of process improvement and communications projects. Catherine holds an MA in writing from Johns Hopkins University and a BA in English from the University of Maryland
