Jennifer Gray, MS ’07 Principal Amazon

Jennifer has over 15 years of security and privacy compliance and joined Splunk, a software company that produces software for searching, monitoring, and analyzing machine-generated data via a web-style interfaces, as Director of Product Compliance in August 2022.  She previously held positions at Salesforce and Amazon. At Amazon she was a key strategist for risk and compliance initiatives, with a strong focus on building customer trust across Alexa.  Previously, she led Amazon Web Service’s (AWS) public sector security and compliance services.  Jennifer led Amazon’s first US Federal Government and Department of Defense Cloud Computing security authorizations to enable customers to run their most sensitive workloads on AWS.  Prior to joining Amazon, she was a public servant at the US Department of Health & Human Services’ Cybersecurity Program, driving government-wide cloud computing adoption to help programs deliver their mission to the public in an innovative, secure, agile and cost-efficient fashion.

She is a recipient of the Fed100 and Advanced Technology Academic Research Center (ATARC) Cloud Innovation awards, including fedscoop’s DC’s Top Women in Tech.  Jennifer is an Excellence in Government fellow for the Partnership for Public Service and graduated from The Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School with a Masters in Information Systems and Telecommunications.

Jennifer is an active supporter of her company’s global volunteering events.   She enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with her family and friends.
