Director of Business Development
Mid-Atlantic Microwave

Clayton James is a dynamic operations leader currently serving as the Director of Business Development at Mid-Atlantic Microwave, a RF hardware components supplier that supports a large number of DoD contractors in the region.

In his prior role as Director of Operations at NewSight Reality, an Augmented Reality startup, Clayton played a pivotal role in bridging the technical team with strategic initiatives, serving as a key interface between NewSight Reality and USSOCOM.  Clayton brings a robust blend of technical expertise and strategic insight to drive operational success and foster growth in cutting-edge technology sectors.

While Clayton's career has spanned many industries and knowledge domains, including advertising and marketing, real estate, technology, financial services, and asset management, the common thread has always been innovation within small businesses. At Carey, Clayton co-founded the Johns Hopkins Innovation Factory, the first student-led organization to span the many divisions of Johns Hopkins University, with the mission of fostering entrepreneurship and bringing much-needed resources to Hopkins-affiliated startups. A double Hopkins graduate, he received a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from JHU Whiting and a M.Sc. in Finance from JHU Carey.
