Memorial scholarship for international students pursuing entrepreneurship established by Carey Business School alumnus’ family

Why it matters: The family of an alumnus establishes a scholarship fund in his memory to support international students at Carey interested in entrepreneurship.

The family of Harsha K. Aggarwal, a graduate of the Carey Business School and a member of the Dean’s Alumni Advisory Board, has established a scholarship fund to support international students at Carey interested in entrepreneurship. The scholarship is in memory of Mr. Aggarwal who passed away in June 2021 at age 40, and it will receive matching support from the Carey Business School.

Mr. Aggarwal earned an MS in Finance from the Carey Business School in 2007. He was an active member of the DAAB, serving on the Engagement Committee, which fostered connections between students and alumni at Carey as well as encouraged students to pursue entrepreneurial endeavors.

“Harsha will be deeply missed by our community and by his fellow DAAB members. He was always generous with his time and willing to connect with our students, and he was a passionate supporter of the Carey Business School.” Alex Triantis, Dean

A strong believer in people finding and pursuing their passions, Mr. Aggarwal realized his ambitions of being an entrepreneur and founded the private investment company, TCK Capital Partners. He drew inspiration for the company’s name from his experience growing up as a “third culture kid” during his formative years in India, Singapore, and Australia. Before launching his own firm, Mr. Aggarwal held a variety of senior positions in business development, operations, and investment management across a range of industries and sectors, including healthcare, media, and alternative investments.

“Harsha will be deeply missed by our community and by his fellow DAAB members. He was always generous with his time and willing to connect with our students, and he was a passionate supporter of the Carey Business School,” said Alex Triantis, dean of the Carey Business School. “We greatly appreciate the contributions of the Aggarwal family in establishing this memorial scholarship, which we believe will inspire other students to achieve their aspirations.”

“Carey opened so many doors for Harsha, professionally and personally, and we know he would be honored that part of his legacy will be supporting others in their entrepreneurial journey,” said Anjali Aggarwal, sister of Mr. Aggarwal, speaking on behalf of the Aggarwal family. “As a ‘third culture kid,’ Harsha believed in the importance of fostering a globally diverse community in all aspects of his life, and we hope this scholarship will provide valuable support for international students to pursue their studies at Carey, as well as inspire them to realize their dreams.”

The scholarship funds will be awarded to qualifying international students applying for a Master of Finance or MBA program at the Carey Business School, who have an interest in entrepreneurship.
