The Johns Hopkins University confers degrees at the conclusion of its summer, fall, and spring semesters.
Apply for graduation through SIS self-service. After signing in, at the top left click registration → program of study info → apply for graduation. Students who apply to graduate will be contacted via JHU email with important information about graduation status, commencement ceremony attendance, and diplomas.
Deadlines for academic year 2019-2020 graduation applications:
- Summer 2019 - June 14, 2019
- Fall 2019 - September 20, 2019
- Spring 2020 - February 21, 2020

The Carey Business School holds graduation ceremonies for degree recipients in the spring and summer. Fall degree recipients are invited to participate in the spring ceremony. Carey sends graduation ceremony information via JHU email in March for spring ceremonies and in late June for the summer ceremony.
Carey Business School Graduation Ceremony Spring 2020
The Spring 2020 graduation ceremony is for degree recipients graduating in the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters. The ceremony will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Modell Lyric. The Modell Lyric is located at 140 West Mount Royal Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21201. Find directions, parking, and public transportation options.
Johns Hopkins University-Wide Commencement 2020
In addition to the Carey Business School graduation ceremony, Carey Business School graduates and their guests are invited to attend the Johns Hopkins University-wide commencement. The University-wide commencement 2020 is Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Royal Farms Arena, Baltimore, MD.
Carey Business School now offers Certified Electronic Diplomas (CeDiplomas) for students who graduated with a degree* May 2016 or later. For more information, please visit the Johns Hopkins University website.
*CeDiplomas are also available for students who graduated with a certificate fall 2017 or later.
