The Johns Hopkins University confers degrees at the conclusion of its summer, fall, and spring semesters.

Apply for graduation through SIS self-service. After signing in, at the top left click registration → program of study info → apply for graduation. Students who apply to graduate will be contacted via JHU email with important information about graduation status, commencement ceremony attendance, and diplomas.

Deadlines for academic year 2019-2020 graduation applications:

  • Summer 2019 - June 14, 2019
  • Fall 2019 - September 20, 2019
  • Spring 2020 - February 21, 2020

The Carey Business School holds graduation ceremonies for degree recipients in the spring and summer. Fall degree recipients are invited to participate in the spring ceremony. Carey sends graduation ceremony information via JHU email in March for spring ceremonies and in late June for the summer ceremony.

Carey Business School Ceremony Spring 2019

The spring 2019 ceremony was for degree recipients graduating in the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters. The ceremony was held Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The Meyerhoff is located at 1212 Cathedral St., Baltimore, MD 21201. Johns Hopkins University-Wide Commencement 2019

In addition to the Carey Business School ceremony, Carey Business School graduates and their guests were invited to attend the Johns Hopkins University-wide commencement. The University-wide commencement 2019 was Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at the Royal Farms Arena, Baltimore, MD.


Carey Business School now offers Certified Electronic Diplomas (CeDiplomas) for students who graduated with a degree* May 2016 or later. For more information, please visit the Johns Hopkins University website.

*CeDiplomas are also available for students who graduated with a certificate fall 2017 or later.
