Funding Resources
Carey Business School proudly participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program. The Yellow Ribbon Program is a voluntary agreement between Carey and the Department of Veterans Affairs to waive a portion of tuition costs that exceed the national maximum Post 9/11 GI Bill® reimbursement. The Veterans Administration will match the amount of the waiver provided by Carey and contribute that to your tuition.
Carey Business School offers unlimited annual benefits through the Yellow Ribbon Program, with no cap on the number of recipients or the amount of support provided. This ensures that all qualifying veterans receive maximum financial assistance. Please visit the Department of Veteran Affairs for full eligibility guidelines.
Through the Post-9/11 GI Bill®, Veterans Affairs will pay a percentage of a student's net cost for tuition and fees (after the application of any other tuition-specific support) to Carey Business School and disburse any eligible housing and book payments directly to students. The amount of payment is governed by the student’s eligibility as established by the VA.

As a thank you for your service, the $100 nonrefundable application fee is waived for all active duty, reservist and veteran applicants. To request the waiver, please contact the admissions recruiter for the program to which you are applying before submitting your application.
Johns Hopkins regularly updates the types of assistance available to active military and veteran students. Stipends, additional military tuition assistance, and MD National Guard opportunities are available for Carey students. External military scholarships are also available through various external organizations, offering scholarships, grants, and loans. Details on each additional type of assistance can be found on the Johns Hopkins Office of Student Enrollment and Account Management’s Veterans Affairs website.
Students are certified on a per-semester basis, meaning benefits do not automatically roll over from one semester to another. Students must complete the Third-Party Payer agreement each semester in order to request certification. The agreement can be found on the billing tab in your SIS account. Please select VA and the Chapter that you are using for that particular semester e.g. VA Chapter 33. Next, read the student acknowledgment section, check the box to acknowledge, sign, and submit. Students utilizing VA education benefits must immediately notify their school certifying official of any change in enrollment status or program that might affect their payment amount from the VA. Student Veterans of America
Johns Hopkins Carey Business School Student Veterans of America (SVA) is a student-led organization that provides active-duty, reservist and veteran students with opportunities for networking, career development, transition assistance, experiential learning, and community service. SVA serves as a catalyst for student success by providing resources, network support, and advocacy to students throughout and beyond their higher education journey.
Jeremy Sweeting, SVA President
Jeremy Sweeting is a Flex MBA candidate at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School who served nine years in the U.S. Navy. He previously supported high-visibility strategic projects at Lockheed Martin focused on strengthening national defense capabilities and also contributed to planning and coordination efforts for U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) during his military service. Jeremy now serves as the Chief Operating Officer - and incoming CEO - of PsychGigs, a Johns Hopkins startup and rapidly growing mental-health staffing platform. Jeremy currently serves as President of the Student Veterans of America chapter at Carey, where he aims to elevate the veteran experience through stronger programming, innovative partnerships, and leadership that ensures every Hopkins veteran feels supported and equipped to excel.
Robert Dromsky-Reed, SVA Vice President
Robert Dromsky-Reed is a Flex MBA candidate at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and is currently serving in the U.S. Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer. He earned a commissioning NROTCU Rochester where he received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He has served on two destroyers in operations and engineering departments and completed one deployment and several patrols. LT Dromsky-Reed is now stationed in Monterey, CA, completing an M.S. in Astronautical Engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School and transitioning to the Engineering Duty Officer Community. He serves as the Vice President of the Student Veterans of America chapter at Carey, promoting collaboration and support among active duty and veterans to ensure we all succeed.
SVA Events & Initiatives
The Carey Veteran Buddy Program pairs incoming and current students to help support new students as they begin their academic journey. Participants hold online social and professional events, in-person leadership programming in honor of Veteran’s Day, and support connecting students to many resources, networks, and programming at Hopkins.

Veterans to Executives Transition (VET) Academy

The Veterans to Executives Transition (VET) Academy is an innovative, 10-day, non-degree executive education program designed to prepare senior military leaders for high-impact careers in the civilian sector. Tailored specifically for leaders with 20+ years of military experience, the VET Academy combines hands-on, experiential learning with practical executive development. Participants strengthen critical skills in communication, executive presence, finance, negotiation, and strategy while learning to translate their military experience into compelling leadership narratives. Through this immersive experience, participants gain the confidence, capabilities, and perspective to successfully navigate the transition to civilian leadership and advance their careers.

Reserve Organization of America
Carey Business School's partnership with the Reserve Organization of America (ROA) expands opportunities for the Reserve force through increased access to graduate and executive education. ROA members receive waived application fees and $10-$15K tuition scholarships across a range of programs including Flexible MBA, Executive MBA, and part-time online specialized master’s programs in Business Analytics, Finance, Health Care Management, Information Systems, Management, Marketing, and Real Estate & Infrastructure. This partnership also provides ROA members with meaningful networking and visibility within Carey’s vibrant ecosystem of students, alumni, and industry partners across the region and around the world.
U.S. Naval Academy
The U.S. Naval Academy’s Voluntary Graduate Education Program (VGEP) allows highly qualified midshipmen to begin accelerated master’s degree programs at The Carey Business School during their senior year. Students begin taking master’s classes in the spring of their First Class (senior) year and complete the degree in one calendar year, graduating in December. Carey is a long-standing VGEP participating university that offers a significant discount to participating students.
