Flexible MBA: Finding community as an online student

As an online student, Randall Kennedy (MBA ’24) wanted a program that would accommodate his busy schedule but also provide him with the opportunity to feel like part of the community. Kennedy was able to take advantage of in-person residency courses and Carey-offered networking events to connect with his peers from across the world and actively participate in various programs.

Health Care Strategy Consulting Practicum

In this two-course series, work as a consultant to address the client’s existing and emerging challenges in the healthcare space. Access the close ties to Johns Hopkins Hospital system as well as external partners spanning the healthcare industry. 

Strategy Consulting Practicum 

Learn the analytical techniques for diagnosing the competitive position of a business and how to evaluate strategies. Then partner with a client organization analyze their business problems or opportunities and share your recommended strategic business solution. 

Face-to-face domestic and global learning opportunities in these for-credit courses. 

Leadership Development Expedition

Enhance your leadership skills on a nine-day outdoor excursion to Norway. Students develop their capacity for leadership and build a deep understanding of their own strengths and contributions as a leader in a high-performing team. 

Global Immersion

Connect with your classmates by traveling abroad to immerse yourself in today’s most important business topics through an international lens.. Students learn firsthand how international companies are adapting to emerging business developments by engaging with industry experts, global business leaders, and internationally renowned business faculty from our academic partners.  

Residencies

Residencies are the in-person portion of the eight-week online courses for Negotiation, Business Communication, and Leadership and Organizational Behavior. 

Accelerated Electives

Courses offered in an accelerated format, such as Effective Teaming and Power & Politics. In this format, students will complete most of a two-credit course in person over three days at the Carey Business School.

Case competitions
