(Baltimore—July 15, 2026) The Johns Hopkins Carey Business School today announced that Cliff Rossi, a seasoned risk management professional and finance industry titan, will be joining the business school faculty as the newly appointed executive-in-residence.
Rossi brings over 25 years of risk management experience, having worked in executive-level positions for well-known financial entities such as Citigroup and Washington Mutual and serving in senior-level positions for government-sponsored agencies like Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Domestic Finance. Rossi was also an adjunct professor in the finance department at the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business before transitioning into full-time roles as a professor of practice, director of the Smith Enterprise Risk Consortium, and as executive-in-residence.

As executive-in-residence, Rossi will provide specialized mentorship to Carey students, helping them build professional networks, pursue internship or job opportunities, and further prepare for industry careers. He will execute meaningful lectures for faculty and students based on his research and policy work and elevate the school’s brand by offering his expertise across banking, climate, AI and risk management topics.
