Tech Transfer Is Focus of Speaker Series Presentation

Two experts in technology transfer were the featured panelists in a presentation of the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School’s Distinguished Speaker Series.
Dean Alexander Triantis of the Carey Business School moderated the April 21, 2021, event titled “Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained: The Business Behind Life-Changing Innovations.”
The two panelists were Christoph Lengauer (MBA ’01), a partner at Third Rock Ventures in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a contributor to the discovery and development of four FDA-approved medicines and several drugs currently in clinical trials; and Christy Wyskiel, senior advisor to the president of Johns Hopkins University for innovation and entrepreneurship, and executive director of Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures, the university division responsible for technology transfer, industry research partnerships, and company incubation under the brand “FastForward.”
Lengauer was featured last December in a Carey Business School website article about his role in the development of a cancer-detection blood test created by Johns Hopkins researchers.
