Full-time specialized master's programs

How we work with full-time MS students

The Career & Life Design team partners closely with full-time Master of Science students to help you pursue your unique career goals, leverage your education, and assist you in creating a community within and beyond the Johns Hopkins ecosystem. We will work with you to build upon your professional and academic experience, skills, and interests to pursue meaningful career opportunities during and after your time at Carey.

Full-time Master of Science students benefit from:

  • Peer Career Advisors (PCAs): PCAs work one-on-one and in small groups with students to provide on-site and virtual resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile support.
  • Career Coaching: Throughout your program and beyond, students meet with certified  career coaches to gain greater focus on career goals, understand and utilize extensive career preparation resources,  and partner to plan and execute strategic internship, job, and career searches.

As a Peer Career Advisor, I work one-on-one with students, using our university's resources to create powerful resumes and compelling cover letters. Together, we discover their strengths, polish their professional stories, and guide them in their career paths. Moreover, through these interactions, I also learn and gain insights from their diverse experiences."

  • Extensive internship/job postings through Handshake’s Job Collections
  • Weekly industry insider sessions with Employer Relations specialists and invited industry guests
  • On-site and virtual employer information sessions
  • Carey’s signature spring MS Alumni Connect
  • Access to Johns Hopkins Future Fest, career fairs, industry treks, employer site visits, and other virtual and in-person career events

[MS Alumni Connect] was an incredible opportunity. I really appreciated the thoughtful setting—it was great to reconnect with classmates and the Carey Career & Life Design team in a relaxed, yet professional environment. I also had the chance to speak with several alumni whose industries and roles closely align with my own career interests. What stood out most to me was the advice I received on both mid- and long-term career planning. These conversations helped ease a lot of the anxiety I’ve had about entering the U.S. workforce after graduation."
