FAQs

The Master’s in Management (MiM) program is for recent graduates and early-career professionals looking to build their management and business skills. Covering key topics like finance, marketing, operations, and leadership, the MiM program develops your analytical thinking, strategic reasoning, and effective communication to prepare you for impactful leadership roles.

The main difference between a Master’s in Management and an MBA is experience levels and program structure. The MiM is for individuals with little to no professional experience or business education, making it ideal for those new to business who want to focus on foundational management concepts. An MBA targets mid-career professionals with several years of work experience, focusing on practical application and leadership advancement. At Johns Hopkins, both degrees offer unique advantages based on your background and career goals.

A MiM degree builds strong foundations in core business principles, leadership, teamwork, and strategic thinking, which is ideal for launching or accelerating their careers. The program offers valuable networking opportunities and access to Johns Hopkins’ global community helping you build connections and advance in today’s increasingly competitive job market.

The full-time MiM program is 9 months.

The full-time MiM program is in-person, based in Baltimore, MD.

There are 11 foundational courses (22 credits), one experiential learning course in Paris, and four electives. You can choose from five elective tracks: AI for Management, Analytics for Management, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and the non-elective track.

In 2025, U.S. Master's in Management graduates earned a median salary of $90,000 and held positions in the technology, finance and accounting, and consulting fields.

Tuition covers all program materials for Baltimore- and Paris-based courses, except airfare. Airfare is not included in tuition for the Strategic Brand Management course in Paris.
