GMAT/GRE Test Waiver Policies

At Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, the GMAT or GRE are just one of many factors that we weigh when reviewing your application. You should evaluate your own skillsets, strengths, and shortcomings and decide whether testing or the waiver makes your application as strong as it can be. If you would like to be considered for a test waiver, please review the information below to see if you meet the minimum criteria. Waiver requests are part of the application.  When deciding whether to offer a test waiver, we will look closely at your academic and professional accomplishments, including but not limited to:

  • Your undergraduate and/or graduate record, especially in analytical or quantitative courses.
  • The progression of your career, nature of your work experience, professional certifications, and post-MBA career goals. If applicable, performance on graduate-level standardized testing other than the GMAT or GRE, such as the MCAT or LSAT.
