Varghese "Abe" Abraham, MD, MBA '15

Chief Medical Officer and Chief Operating Officer, stealth AI-biotech venture

Abe Abraham is an executive medical leader with a career spanning biopharma development, medical affairs, and entrepreneurial innovation. He oversaw Phase I-IV trials and FDA/EMA submissions, including first-in-human programs recognized for excellence in design and regulatory quality. At Genentech, he orchestrated agile transformation in U.S. Medical Affairs and shaped medical strategy across immunology portfolios, including Actemra, Rituxan, Obinutuzumab, and Fenebrutinib. As medical lead at Neurocrine Biosciences, he led the medical launch of the first FDA-approved therapy for congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Abe is a two-time founder, currently serving as chief medical officer and chief operating officer of a stealth venture at the intersection of AI and biotechnology. He earned his MBA at Johns Hopkins, completed postdoctoral clinical research training at the University of Chicago, and remains active as a mentor and advisor, committed to fostering diversity and inclusion across biotechnology.
