Johns Hopkins Carey Business School’s Center for Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence welcomes Accenture as corporate partner

Johns Hopkins Carey Business School’s Center for Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence is pleased to announce that Accenture Federal Services has become its latest partner.

CDHAI’s mission is to generate new insights into how technological innovations can be deployed to address the challenges of health care quality, patient empowerment, health equity, and health care costs. The center works to facilitate and accelerate the digital transformation of health care, and unbiased, ethical AI for health.

“We are excited to welcome Accenture as a partner in our ideation and thought leadership,” said Ritu Agarwal, CDHAI director and Wm. Polk Carey Distinguished Professor. “My co-director Gordon Gao and I look forward to engaging closely with Accenture to improve health outcomes in communities, with a particular focus on health equity and racial disparities.  Together, our teams will explore how artificial intelligence solutions can be used to promote fairness in health.”

CDHAI’s 20+ researchers from multiple disciplines study topics related to the digital transformation of health care that span a gamut of technologies including electronic health records, wearables and sensors, mobile health technologies, machine learning and AI, and health-related social media data.

“As artificial intelligence and machine learning are increasingly used for public health and health care, it is important to ensure their responsible design and deployment,” said Kenyon Crowley, Accenture Federal Services managing director and Health Analytics lead. “Given Johns Hopkins University’s rich history of health sciences innovation, we look forward to partnering to advance the school’s initiatives, inform our Federal Health priorities, and accelerate improved U.S. public health outcomes.”

Accenture Federal Services’ applied intelligence practice will bring valuable insights to guide and shape CDHAI’s research portfolio.
