FoodCorps

Jessica Montoya serves as the Policy Director for FoodCorps and leads the policy and advocacy team for the national nonprofit. Since 2010, FoodCorps has worked with its coalition of partners and state and federal lawmakers to advance policies that integrate food education into the school day and ensure school food nourishes children’s minds and bodies, as well as supporting workers’ livelihoods, local economies, and the environment.

She is a seasoned advocate with more than 20 years of experience working with the U.S. Congress and Global Fortune 500 companies. Most recently, she led Government Affairs for Sodexo, a leading global food service firm. At Sodexo, she advanced legislation to decrease childhood obesity by advocating for better nutrition and food education in schools. She also managed congressional affairs for Chrysler, where she helped secure billions in government bridge loans to keep the company financially viable.  Montoya worked with Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton, a Washington, D.C., Democrat, gaining valuable experience in the legislative and political processes. She is a native of New Mexico and holds a BA and JD from the University of New Mexico. She also earned an MBA from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School where she participated in the Leadership Development Program for Minority Managers.
