Diploma FAQ - Summer 2020 Graduates
In order to ensure the health and well-being of our graduates amidst the ongoing public health concerns, all diplomas will be mailed. Please read the information below carefully regarding our mailing options.
All August 2020 Graduates
- The mailing process for all diplomas will begin the week of August 31.
- The official graduation/conferral date on both your paper diploma and (electronic) CeDiploma will be August 28, 2020. This is the official graduation date for all summer graduates and cannot be changed.
- Financial Holds: Students with a financial obligation to the school cannot receive paper or electronic (CeDiploma) diplomas.
- The deadline to make any changes to your diploma-mailing address and cell number in your graduation application in SIS is August 6.
Double-check your diploma-mailing address and cell number in your graduation application in SIS by August 6 to ensure they are accurate and reflect the location in which you will be able to receive your mailed diploma after August 31. Please input the correct zip code or postal code for your diploma-mailing address. To view or edit your diploma-mailing address and cell number, log in to your Carey SIS Self-Service account > Registration > Program of Study > View my Graduation Application.
U.S. Diploma-mailing Address
Graduates who have a U.S. diploma-mailing address will have their diplomas mailed via standard United States Postal Service (USPS).
Please allow 2-3 weeks from August 31 to receive your diploma to your U.S. diploma-mailing address. Tracking information cannot be provided.
Friend Living in the U.S.
If you will be located outside of the U.S. after August 31, but you have a friend who lives in the U.S., you are welcome to input the U.S. mailing address of your friend for him/her to receive your diploma on your behalf. The Address 1 line of the graduation application in SIS should be input as “c/o [insert friend’s name].”
International Diploma-mailing Address
FedEx (Highly Recommended; international mailing only):
If you will be located outside of the U.S. after August 31 and would like your diploma mailed to you directly to your international address, you have the option of using FedEx shipping at your cost to have your diploma shipped to you outside of the U.S. This is highly recommended for graduates having their diploma shipped to an international address in order to ensure a timely and reliable delivery.
The fee to use the FedEx option is $40. We are currently in the process of creating a payment webpage for students to utilize the FedEx option to pay their $40 fee via credit card. The link to the payment webpage will be emailed to all graduates in the next 2-3 weeks. Once the link is emailed, you will have until August 30 to make your payment on the payment webpage to utilize the FedEx option.
Again, the FedEx shipping option is only for graduates with an international diploma-mailing address and is highly recommended.
Please allow 2-3 weeks from August 31 to receive your diploma at your international address via FedEx. Tracking information can be provided upon request after August 31.
United States Postal Service (USPS):
If you choose not to use the FedEx option, your diploma will be mailed to your international diploma-mailing address via standard USPS.
Please allow 10-12 weeks after August 31 to receive your diploma to your international diploma-mailing address. Tracking information cannot be provided.
Certified Electronic Diplomas (CeDiploma)
The CeDiploma is a certified pdf version of your diploma and will be made available for download by September 23. When available, it can be downloaded through your Carey SIS Self-Service account > Registration > CeDiploma.
