The home of the bean and the cod now sports official membership in the Carey Business School’s expanding regional community.

Members of the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School family, led by Dean Bernie Ferrari, convened in Boston on Tuesday, April 17, for the official opening of the school’s latest alumni club. Boston-area alumni Vinita Bhaskar, Stacey Mallon, Florcy Morisset, Uzo Mba, and Victoria Richard, all helped organize the event.

Johns Hopkins University enjoys an influential network of more than 215,000 alumni worldwide, which includes more than 25,000 business graduates. The Boston Alumni Club represents the sixth such regional organization established by Carey, the others including New York City, San Francisco, Beijing, and Shanghai, in addition to the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area.

“The Boston Alumni Club launch was a wonderful start to our effort to connect the alumni community in the area with each other and back to the school. We look forward to building out our programming in partnership with the local alumni volunteers,” said Sharon Trivino, director of alumni relations at the Carey Business School.

The Boston club won’t enjoy its status as newest for long, however. Carey’s launch of its Chicago Alumni Club is scheduled for mid-May.
