Jal Irani is a founder and product manager based out of Baltimore, MD. Currently, he is the founder & CEO of Flave, which leverages the principles of gamification to incentivize the community to eat local. Prior to Flave, he was the Head of Product at SchoolDuels where he took the company’s web-based platform from ideation to production and 125k in ARR within the first year. He has also worked at early-stage startups such as TrackOFF (acquired by Avast) as well as ZeroFOX.

Jal has independently developed apps SmartAddress and SleepIn Alarm, which are currently deployed on the iOS App Store. SleepIn Alarm is an alarm clock that automatically cancels based on university inclement weather policies. SmartAddress stores user destinations to compare current Lyft and Uber prices and surges; SmartAddress sold to FamJam Inc. in 2018.

Jal also teaches full-time in Towson University’s Computer Science department where he is the primary Lecturer for both the undergraduate and graduate full-stack web development and mobile programming courses.
