Important Registration Information and Policies

Registration is easy, and takes just a few minutes. Simply follow the links on individual Executive Education course pages.

If you have registered for a course but are unable to attend, let us know in advance, and we will arrange for a full refund. Please email cancellation requests to carey.execed@jhu.edu

Cancellation Policy

To cancel or transfer your registration, please write to carey.execed@jhu.edu.

In order to receive a full refund:

• JHU employees must give cancellation notice at least one week prior to course start date.
• Non-JHU employees must give cancellation notice at least two weeks prior to course start date.

Registrants who do not give cancellation notice and do not attend will not receive a refund.
Cancellation notice period will only be waived for emergencies. Written documentation is required.

Credit Card Payment Policy

Course cancellations must be received no later than 7 days prior to the session start date. Payments made via credit card will be automatically refunded in 5-7 business days as long as the cancellation is made less than 120 days after the payment date. For credit card payments cancelled 120 days or more after the payment has been processed, please contact us directly at 410-234-9363.

Discounts and Incentives

At Johns Hopkins University, supporting professional growth and advancement is part of our mission. We are pleased to offer the following discounts and incentives to help you achieve your career goals.

1) JHU employees receive 100% tuition remission covering the full cost of a selected course. The $5250 annual family limit does not apply to Executive Education courses at the Carey Business School. The new JHU tuition remission form is available online here. Employees must complete the form and return it to carey.execed@jhu.edu before they can register for a course.

2) JHHS employees receive a 20% discount from all JHU Carey Executive Education courses. No forms or discount codes are necessary.

3) JHU alumni can receive discounts on Executive Education courses. Email carey.execed@jhu.edu to confirm tuition discounts.

4) Partners can receive custom incentives and discounts. Email carey.execed@jhu.edu for more information.

Inclement Weather Policy

One-Day Course
  • JHU opens at 10 a.m.: participants will have a working lunch and end at scheduled time
  • JHU opens at noon: reschedule course
  • JHU closed: reschedule course
Two-Day Course
Day 1 (of two-day session)
  • JHU opens at 10 a.m.: class begins at 10am with working lunch on first day
  • JHU opens at noon: class begins at noon with working lunch both days
  • JHU closed: reschedule course
Day 2 (of two-day session)

If day 1 was on time or started at 10 a.m. on day 2:

  • JHU opens at 10 a m : class begins at 10 a.m. with working lunch
  • JHU opens at noon: class begins at noon and is extended to 4:30 p.m., with a working lunch

If day 1 started at noon, on day 2:

  • JHU opens at 10 a.m. or noon: session is extended to 4:30 p.m., with a working lunch
  • JHU closed: course will be rescheduled
Three-Day Course
Day 1 (of three-day session)
  • JHU opens at 10 a.m.: class begins at 10 a.m., with a working lunch on first day
  • JHU opens at noon: class begins at noon with a working lunch all three days
  • JHU closed: seminar is condensed into two days.  Change starting time to 8:30 a.m., ending to 4:30 p.m. with working lunch on both days.
Day 2 (of three-day session)

If day 1 was on time or started at 10 a.m., on day 2:

  • JHU opens at 10 a.m.: class begins at 10 a.m., with a working lunch on day 2
  • JHU opens at noon: class begins at noon, with a working lunch on day 2 and 3
  • JHU closed: change starting time for day 3 to 8:30 a.m. and with ending time of 4:30 and a working lunch on day 3

If day 1 started at noon, on day 2:

  • JHU opens at 10 a.m.: extend session until 4:30 p.m., with a working lunch
  • JHU opens at noon: extend session until 4:30 p.m., with a working lunch. Class begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m. on day 3.
  • JHU closed: session will be rescheduled

If day 1 was cancelled, on day 2:

  • JHU closed or delayed opening: course will be rescheduled
Day 3 (of three-day session)

If on time day 1 and day 2:

  • JHU opens at 10 a.m.: class starts at 10 a.m., with a working lunch
  • JHU opens at noon: class starts at noon, with a working lunch and ends at 4:30 p.m.

If there was a delay on day 1 or day 2:

  • JHU opens at 10 a.m. or noon: session is extended to 4:30 p.m., with a working lunch

If day 1 or day 2 of session was closed and on day 3:

  • JHU opens at 10 a.m.: class starts at 10 a.m., with a working lunch
  • JHU opens at noon: day 3 will be rescheduled
  • JHU closed: day 3 will be rescheduled

Registration Procedure

Depending on seat availability, registration for any course typically closes one week prior to scheduled course start. At that time, confirmed registrants will receive instructions on accessing the course materials through Blackboard.
