The Johns Hopkins University confers degrees at the conclusion of its Summer, Fall, and Spring semesters.
Apply for graduation through SIS Self-Service. After signing in, at the top left click Registration → Program of Study Info → Apply for Graduation. Students who apply to graduate will be contacted via JHU email with important information about graduation status, commencement ceremony attendance, and diplomas.

Deadlines for academic year 2018-2019 Graduation Applications:

  • Summer 2018 - June 15, 2018
  • Fall 2018 - September 21, 2018
  • Spring 2019 - February 22, 2019

The Carey Business School holds graduation ceremonies for degree recipients in the spring and summer. Fall degree recipients are invited to participate in the spring ceremony. Graduation ceremony information is sent via JHU email in early March for the spring ceremonies. Information is sent in late June for the summer ceremony.


The Spring 2019 Carey ceremony is for degree recipients graduating in the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters. The Carey ceremony is Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The Meyerhoff is located at 1212 Cathedral St. Baltimore, MD 21201. In addition to the Carey Business School ceremony, Carey Business School graduates and their guests are invited to attend the Johns Hopkins University-wide Commencement each spring. The University-wide Commencement 2019 is Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 1:30 PM at the Royal Farms Arena.


Carey Business School now offers Certified Electronic Diplomas (CeDiplomas) for students who graduated with a degree* May 2016 or later. For more information, please visit the Johns Hopkins University website.
