Jessica Antonen focuses on large-scale projects such as the Career Fair and the Career Development Office annual report, as well as providing general project and event management support for the team.

Jessica joined the Carey Business School Career Development Office (CDO) in the summer of 2017 as the assistant director. In her role, she supports the staff of 20 by providing project and event support for the office, as well as internal reports, including the annual report. Prior to her work in the CDO, Jessica was the assistant director for Student Services at the Harbor East campus, focusing on student engagement.  She also started the “Week of Welcome at Carey,” which focuses on connecting students to important resources and support during the first week of classes in the fall and spring semesters.

Jessica previously worked at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), supporting leadership, diversity and inclusion, residence life, and student engagement initiatives. While at MICA, she developed the graduate housing program, a community engagement living learning program, and raised thousands of dollars for the LGBT student scholarship program. Prior to moving to Maryland, Jessica worked at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa supporting new student orientation, multicultural affairs, student engagement, and residence life. Some of her most exciting accomplishments from USF include developing the late-night programming initiative and creating the battle of the bands.

In her spare time, Jessica serves as the community engagement chair for the Barre Circle Community Association (BCCA), runs a small family business, serves on the alumni committee for Business Volunteers Maryland GIVE program, volunteers with the DMV House Rabbit Society, volunteers with Youth in Business, and is the advancement co-chair for Women in Student Affairs. For fun, Jessica loves to travel, crochet, and dance (she has even won awards in ballroom dance competitions). She loves to try new things and is always happy to lend a hand! Additionally, Jessica describes herself as an industrious, adventurous, and personable strategist.

Jessica holds a BA in Urban Geography with a focus on Geographic Information Systems from the University of South Florida (USF).She also has an MA in Education with a focus on Higher Education in Student Affairs from USF. Lastly, Jessica recently joined the Carey Business School as a Flex MBA student as of May 2018.
