“Leadership is not bullying and leadership is not aggression. Leadership is the expectation that you can use your voice for good. That you can make the world a better place.”
Business with humanity in mind is not just a cool and attention-grabbing tagline; it is an indication of a different perspective that allows one to be both an effective business leader and a caring human being. Traditionally, MBA graduates have been dismissed by the general population as greedy, and movies such as The Wolf of Wall Street certainly confirm that view. However, tradition does not imply destiny. To regard industry leaders as distinct from human rights activists is to accept that a different approach to doing business is impossible and that those who care about markets and enterprises will always be at odds with those who care about people. A business leader who makes the world a better place does not have to be an anomaly and Carey students work hard to prove that.
