The Career Development Team is getting out of the office! We’ve recently joined students on exciting outdoor adventures aimed at building stronger relationships, boosting confidence and developing leadership skills. In May, staff and students hiked into Shenandoah on an overnight trip. They spent the day hiking to the peak of Old Rag, cooking in the backcountry, and having in-depth cultural conversions around the campfire. In June, with a sendoff from our very own Dr. Demir Yener on his Harley, we hiked along the historic C&O canal, just 15 minutes outside of DC. The 4-mile hike led to great conversations, amazing views of the falls, and an increased pace back to the parking lot as the impending summer storm fell upon us! Afterwards, we debriefed at a local pizza joint and planned our next adventures.
