In case we experience University-wide closing, you will receive an email to this email address (that you provided when you RSVP’d for orientation). An email will be sent out around 7:00 a.m., or as soon as information is provided to us. We also highly recommend that you register your phone to receive any future emergency messages from Carey or the University by logging into https://my.jh.edu/portal/web/jhupub/.

Prepare for the case Study Session

One of the sessions, led by faculty member Bonnie Robeson, is designed to introduce you to the case study method. To prepare for that session, please make sure to have read this case study prior to January 17.

Get Your J-card

The J-Card is the official identification and access card for students, faculty, and staff of the Johns Hopkins University, including the Carey Business School. When you arrive for Orientation, you will have your photo taken for your J-Card. Your J-Card will be available for pick up by the end of the day. You must present government issued identification (passport, driver’s license) to get your J-Card.

First Steps for New Students

Please make sure that you have reviewed the New Students Checklist and the Academic Ethics Policy information.

Discounted underground parking is available at 100 International Drive in the Legg Mason building. When you arrive for Orientation, you may purchase a $5 discounted parking ticket from our Information Desk on the 2nd floor. Only credit/debit cards are accepted. Once you park your vehicle, please remember the floor you parked on. Find the closest elevator and press “L.” The elevator doors will open onto a small lobby with ATM machines. Exit the lobby through the glass doors to your left; make a left turn and walk down the sidewalk until you get to the Carey Business School Lobby. Parking passes will be available for purchase throughout the day.

If you need special accommodations due to a disability, please respond at your earliest convenience or by Friday, January 11, COB. Please email carey.student@jhu.edu.
