PepsiCo Executive Visits Johns Hopkins

Laxman Narasimhan, the chief executive officer of PepsiCo Latin America, spoke to students and faculty from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C., on October 21. Narasimhan leads PepsiCo’s food and beverage business in Mexico, Brazil, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. He discussed the opportunities and challenges of growing a multinational business in Latin America as well as some of his personal views on the qualities of good leadership. Vali Nasr, dean of SAIS, and Bernie Ferrari, dean of the Carey Business School, hosted the event.

PepsiCo is a global food and beverage leader with net revenues of more than $63 billion and a product portfolio of 22 brands including, Quaker, Tropicana, Gatorade, Frito-Lay and Pepsi-Cola. In addition to his work at PepsiCo, Narasimhan is also a Trustee of the Brookings Institution, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a fellow of the Foreign Policy Association, and is an Advisory Board member of the Jay H. Baker Retailing Center at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
