Meet MS Information Systems Student Daeun Lok

Originally from Seoul, Korea, Lok earned her undergraduate degree from the School of Economics and Finance at Hanyang University. After college, Lok was self-employed as a fitness instructor teaching yoga, aerobics, dance, and weight training, which eventually led to an interest in health care.

John Baker, Sr.

John Baker, Sr., MS (Administrative Science, Johns Hopkins University) joined the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School in 1999. He is a Lecturer with expertise in the areas of information systems, digital forensics and information security. Previously, he served as director of undergraduate programs and director of undergraduate technology programs at the Carey School.

Baker has made conference presentations on issues related to technology and education, and he has testified about cybersecurity before the United State House of Representatives Committee on Science. His honors and distinctions include membership on the National Digital Forensics Educators Committee and the Digital Forensics Education Standards Committee. In addition, he previously served as president of Maryland InfraGrad.

Yassi Hakami PhotoYassi has been a member of the Academic Advising team in Carey Business School since July 2012. She has 10 years of experience in education management and advising international and domestic students in various degree programs and levels.  Prior to her work in Carey, Yassi was an Academic Advisor at the Cultural Division of the Embassy of Kuwait where she oversaw various aspects of government scholarship programs including but not limited to providing academic advisement and counseling for Kuwaiti sponsored students attending universities in the United States and Canada. Yassi holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Law and Government from American University Washington College of Law and two Graduate Certificates in Immigration Law and Policy, and Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice. Yassi is a member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators and NACADA, the Global Community for Academic Advising. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and loves reading books and listening to music.
