John began his commercial real estate career as a researcher, analyst,  and sales and leasing agent for Real Estate Associates in Alexandria, Virginia

In 1990 he joined Bishopp Realty in Northern Virginia as a sales and leasing agent specializing in flex and industrial properties where he served many local and Fortune 500 clients.

In 1999 John joined the U.S. General Services Administration, National Capital as realty specialist.   He now serves as senior realty specialist with the US GSA headquarters office in the National Office of Leasing.  Past and current responsibilities with the GSA include:

  • Manager, Advanced Lease Acquisition Program (AAP) (multi-lease award acquisition platform)
  • Development of  automated Advanced Acquisition Program (on-line property offering system used for multiple lease awards nationwide)
  • Regional Program Manager in NCR for first National Broker Contract (NBC1) to use commercial brokers to assist and negotiate lease acquisitions
  • Deputy National Program Manager for NBC1
  • Member, Lease Process Reform Team
  • Program Manager, Space Relinquishment/outlease/buyout program
  • Developer/manager of financial analysis tools used by the GSA regions in evaluating leases, buyouts, subleases and outleases
  • Team lead for leasing audit response program
  • Government’s expert witness for valuation of leasehold interests in claims hearings
