Chris Bauman

Chris Bauman is associate dean for finance and administration for the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. He is responsible for the Carey School’s finances, facility operations, human resources, information technology, office space management, and crisis and risk management.

Bauman joined the Carey Business School in July 2018. During the previous three years, he was assistant dean of finance and administration at the Graziadio Business School of Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. There he had had profit and loss responsibility of Graziadio’s $100 million operating budget.

In that role, he was a member of Graziadio’s leadership team and participated in all aspects of managing the school, including strategy development and execution, budget planning and oversight, revenue and expense forecasting, talent management, organization structure, community presentations, and liaison with central Pepperdine partners.

Before serving as assistant dean, he spent more than a decade in various other financial management roles at the university. Bauman earned his master of business administration degree (with a finance concentration) at the Graziadio School and his bachelor of arts degree in economics at Pepperdine’s Seaver College.
