Susan Silbermann

Susan SilbermannSusan Silbermann is regional president of Pfizer, Inc.’s Latin America Emerging Markets Business Unit, where she is responsible for initiating and supporting management of operations in the 19 countries that comprise the region. She began her career at Pfizer in 1988 as an intern in the company’s US Marketing Division and in 1992 joined the company’s International Pharmaceuticals Group and facilitated the building of its Commercial Development capabilities.  

In 1994, Ms. Silbermann joined Pfizer Italy to create its New Product and New Customer Planning Group.  Two years later she was named one of three leaders of Pfizer’s EuroTeam pilot program, where she led the company’s Aricept EuroTeam. After serving in this role, she rejoined Pfizer Italy as marketing director, managing cross-functional marketing/medical and clinical research teams dedicated to Pfizer’s growing brands.  In 2003, she returned to the United States as vice president of Worldwide Marketing for Oncology, Pain, and Inflammation.

In 2006, Ms. Silbermann became vice president of US Pharmaceuticals Marketing, supporting an annual turnover of $23 billion and managing a group of 120 inline marketers.  She was named senior vice president of Worldwide Commercial Development in 2007 and was promoted to her current position in 2009.

Ms. Silbermann earned her bachelor’s degrees in Biology and French from Tufts University, and her joint MBA/MA in International Business and French Studies from the Stern School of Business and the Institute of French Studies at New York University.  She has participated in several executive training programs at INSEAD and Harvard to support her mission to promote diversity and empower women. She also serves on Harvard’s Women’s Leadership Board and the Board of Advisors for Catalyst Inc.
