
Robert B. Barnhill, Jr. is founder, chairman, president, and chief executive officer of TESSCO Technologies Incorporated, a leading provider of the product solutions required to build, operate and use wireless systems. Publicly traded, TESSCO sales topped $522 million for the fiscal year ending March 29, 2010.
Mr. Barnhill holds a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Cornell University and a master’s degree in business administration from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also an alumnus of the Harvard Business School after completing the ten year President’s Program in Leadership.
He received the Maryland International Business Leadership award in 2006 and was recognized as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Maryland in 1995. Currently Mr. Barnhill serves on the board of visitors for the University of Maryland Medical System’s R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center; on the board of sponsors for Loyola University’s Sellinger School of Business and Management; and the board of directors for the World Trade Center Institute in Baltimore. Mr. Barnhill is also a member of the World Presidents’ Organization and the Chief Executives Organization, and a fellow of The Radio Club of America.
