
David H. Bernstein is chairman of the executive committee of the board of directors, past chairman of the board of directors, and a director and co-founder of Duty Free International, Inc. (DFI).
A native of Baltimore, Bernstein began his association with the duty free industry with Samuel Meisel and Company, Inc., currently DFI’s Diplomatic and Wholesale Division. After graduating from Johns Hopkins University in 1957, Bernstein worked in a variety of positions at Meisel until his appointment as president in 1966, a position he maintained until May 1992. Bernstein also served as president of the International Association of Airport Duty Free Stores.
Bernstein is former chairman of Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and has served on the boards of trustees of Johns Hopkins University and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. He is also part-owner of the Baltimore Orioles.
