The goal of our consulting team is to assist you in becoming aware of the career development process and understanding the implications of a strong plan of action.

Key programs offered at Career Services include:

The Sims Program

This series of structured simulations are geared to provide our students specific opportunities to practice what they have learned through Career Services as it relates to their career development. A few of the many simulations available to our students are: conduct a case interview with an actual Human Resources representative, run a board meeting with a team of other students, or present at a stakeholders meeting

Development Workshops

Offered throughout the year to provide you with up-to-date skills and strategies for specific areas of your career development including: resume targeting, case interviewing, behavioral interviewing, networking, salary negotiation, and more.

"Just in Time" Series

Series of key topics throughout the year, held once a month, that provides training and information on “out of the norm” topics. Past presentations have included: KSA Writing, Presenting with PPT, Network like a Pro, Setting up a Digital Trail, Conducting Business Overseas, and more!

Company Intel Series

Key alumni and other business leaders invited for a 2-week window in our online private network to discuss their company, career path, and what it takes to be a successful candidate at the company or industry.

Job/Internship Search Clubs

Small “closed” groups for students or alumni to join with the express purpose of providing support for their job or internship search. Groups will be divided into: full time search-current student, full time search-alumni, and internship search. Provides training in networking, teamwork, communication skills, and practice of key skills needed for the job search. Sessions will last formally for 6-weeks and will be open for each group to continue on their own after.

Career Conference

During the summer of each year before the recruitment season begins, Career Services hosts a day long series of workshops, panels, and networking opportunities for current students to prepare for the upcoming recruitment season.

  • Registration: your welcome packet will include a “token” that you can use to register online in CSWorks and CareyConnect. If you did not receive a welcome packet, contact our office.
  • Make your first appointment with a Career Advisor: a team of experts is on hand to help you, one on one, at every stage of the job search and career transition. We encourage you to develop a strong and continuous relationship with your career team throughout your time at Carey and beyond.   • Join our Network: once registered with our office, you’ll have the option to join our private online professional network that will put you in touch with fellow students, alumni, and select employers from a variety of industries. Join online presentations, discussion boards, or view an enhanced calendar of events that allows you to instantly reserve your seat at the next presentation.
  • Stay in touch: follow the office activities through our monthly announcements, online network, office blog, industry notes, or follow the team on Twitter and LinkedIn!
