Understanding the business side of medicine is a key advantage for surviving this pivotal era. By learning and applying the concepts of business to the organization of care, graduates of the certificate can take a more active role in structuring and maintaining emerging systems.
Each of the program's four courses meets one evening per week for 10 weeks. The program focuses on business survival skills - accounting, finance, leadership - needed for all health care settings. The Business of Medicine faculty teach from experience, and translate theory into practice in every course. The certificate may be applied toward a 54-credit Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Medical Services Management.
The Business of Medicine program is offered in East Baltimore and Washington DC.
