Experiential Learning Projects

One of the signature advantages of the Weekend MBA for Emerging Leaders, like the full-time program, is the unique offering of a strategic group of hands-on, in-the-field learning experiences that add immediate depth and invaluable substance to the program.

Textbook learning and theory come alive and are put to the test in a series of remarkable learning opportunities that change perspectives, broaden horizons, and challenge conventional wisdom and assumptions.

  • The Innovation for Humanity Project develops creative business leaders who gain first-hand knowledge and skills in building sustainable businesses in developing markets.  Students are immersed in an alternative culture with its attendant business challenges and opportunities that demand new understandings and new approaches, while encouraging a truly global perspective. The business, cultural, and humanitarian experiences realized will last a lifetime.
  • The Discovery to Market Project focuses on the concepts and organizational issues involved in transforming an invention into a viable commercial enterprise. The success of biotechnology, medical, information systems, and other companies rests daily on the ability to successfully launch new products and services at the right time to the right markets. In a simulated environment one step from the marketplace, students are challenged to do the same.
  • Thought and Discourse Seminars feature prominent business leaders and policy makers in a format that stimulates intellectual inquiry and debate on topics such as ethical leadership, global economic systems, and corporate statesmanship. Students are encouraged to share their views, pose frank questions, and consider how the sweeping list of topics presented will impact society, careers, and approaches to conducting business in a changing 21st century landscape.
